On-Demand™
With Firebreak On-Demand™, potential wildfire victims now have the unique opportunity to mitigate or prevent wildfire damage without the commitment of a long-term contract. Insurance professionals and commercial risk managers can schedule Firebreak On-Demand for one or more days, with as little as 24 hours notice.
Firebreak On-Demand offers the following services whenever a client needs it — for one day or for an entire season
Consultation and Pretreatment
The initial consultation and pretreatment is the principal line of defense, allowing us to pretreat properties before wildfire causes total-loss claims.
- Wildfire mitigation specialists will visit properties of your choice in our Firebreak trucks. They will assess wildfire exposure levels and make recommendations on the best course of preventative action.
- If needed, the dry brush around the perimeter of the property is pretreated with Phos-Chek long-term fire retardant. This creates a barrier that will help protect the property throughout the wildfire season. (Until it is washed off with more than 1/4 inch of drenching rainfall or spray)
Notification
Firebreak, with RedZone Software™, provides timely wildfire notices directly to subscribers via email.
- RZAlert™ maps each fire and estimates potential growth based on current and forecasted local weather conditions. Drawing on multiple sources of confirmed geo-coded data insures rapid and accurate notifications.
- Each RZ Alert email is delivered with a map, weather dashboard and impacted area and can be customized to identify threats to specific properties.
- Additional information, such as automated threat analysis of specific insured properties, can be integrated upon request.
Incident Response
Firebreak provides an additional line of defense in which our Firebreak trucks and trained wildfire mitigation specialists respond to active wildfires.
- This service is provided in accordance with the local Incident Command System, the on-scene, incident management system that organizes firefighters, hazardous materials teams, rescuers and emergency medical teams.
- Access permitting, our specialists will quickly inspect the perimeter to look for and remove, if needed, any wildfire-related hazards such as items such as patio/lawn furniture, umbrellas, wood piles, paper, etc.
- If appropriate, they may spray Phos-Chek long-term fire retardant on some or all combustible areas of the property, including brush and landscaping, outbuildings and/or the main structure giving the property an additional layer of protection.
