This is exactly what the portable version Firebreak Wildfire Protection System offers. And, Firebreak uses the only wildfire retardant approved by the U.S. Forrest Service. Phos-Chek is completely non-toxic and environmentally friendly and has been dropped in sensitive areas all over the world for more than 40 years.
This Portable wildfire protection system allows the homeowner to set-up a defensible perimeter around their home making any cellulose material inflammable. The portable 25-gallon system can be mounted onto a pickup, ATV, wagon, or just sitting in an easily accessible area around the home. It is powered by 110V AC or 12V DC. Each system comes with a 5-gallon container of a concentrated form of Phos-Chek, which when mixed with water will yield 25-gallons of usable wildfire retardant. 25-gallons of Phos-Chek will cover over 800 square feet; an example is a line of treatment 10 ft. wide by 80 ft. long. This amount of coverage exceeds the U.S. Forrest Service recommendations for Phos-Chek.
Not only is Phos-Chek effective during a wildfire, it is also a long-term wildfire retardant that will remain effective on surfaces until washed away by water. This allows homeowners to apply preemptive treatments around their properties at the beginning of fire season rendering any brush outside of the irrigated areas non-flammable. So, even when you’re away your property will already have an extra layer of perimeter protection.
